What exactly is a Brazilian Wax?
A Brazilian wax typically removes all of the hair from the pubic region. This means everything from the pubic region and up the backside. Some people choose to leave a "landing strip" or a small triangle.
If you aren't quite ready to bare it all, consider a classic bikini wax or extended bikini wax.
How bad does it hurt?
Discomfort varies from person to person, but the pain is minor compared to the results. Going to a skilled esthetician that understands proper methods for all hair and skin types makes a difference.
Do you offer Brazilian waxing for both women and men?
We do NOT currently wax the male genitalia and hope to add this service in the future.
Can I wax if I am on my period?
Yes. You may take a pain reliever before your appointment if you are more sensitive during mother nature's visit. If you prefer to reschedule, please provide as much notice as possible.
Can I wax if I am pregnant?
Yes. It is safe to wax during pregnancy unless advised otherwise by your healthcare professional.
How long does it last?
Typically you will want to schedule a waxing service every 4 to 6 weeks. It takes approximately 4 weeks for the hair to go through growth cycles. If you allow all of your hair to grow for about 2 weeks (1/4 - 1/2 inch) before your first visit, the wax is more likely to grip and remove the hair. You may notice a few "strays" after your first wax. This is normal and with routine waxing, you'll notice your hair grows in softer, finer, and results last longer.
Will I be irritated? How long will the irritation last?
Redness or sensitivity for up to 24 hours after a wax is normal. You may apply hydrocortisone cream or an aftercare solution provided by your waxing specialist to reduce redness.
If you have never been waxed before and are doing so for a special occasion, we recommend coming in 4-5 weeks before the first wax out of the way. If you don't have time for a "trial" wax, allow a 2-4 day grace period to assure you won't be uncomfortable for your special event.
NO exercising for 24 hours. The sweat and friction may cause irritation, bumps, and even ingrown hairs. Be sure to get your daily workout in before your appointment.
Is there any time I should not wax?
If you are using medicated or prescription skincare such as Accutane or Retin-A, acne medication, antibiotics or steroids, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before waxing.
If you have a sunburn, open sores, had a recent chemical peel or laser treatment you should post-pone waxing until the skin is completely healed.
What kind of wax do you use?
One wax does not fit all. That's why we carry 4 types of high-quality soft (strip) wax and hard wax. All services are customized to benefit your hair and skin type.
What do I need to do to prepare?
You should have a minimum of 1/4 inch of hair growth (about the length of a grain of rice) when you come in for your waxing service. We recommend you avoid numbing creams as they can make it difficult for the wax to grip the hair. Ibuprofen and a few deep breaths can reduce sensitivity. Relax! Waxing is our not-so-secret talent.
Does waxing cause ingrown hair?
Waxing removes the entire hair including the root and dull skin cells that may clog pores, meaning ingrowns are much less likely to occur. It is important to keep the skin clean and exfoliate and hydrate daily to prevent ingrown hairs. Some people are prone to ingrown hairs, similar to acne. We have curated a selection of wonderful retail products for you to enjoy at home.
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly request 24-hour notice for all cancellations. Please call or text as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows your service provider to potentially accommodate another guest. No shows will be charged 50% of the service total.
Please be on time.
The entire experience is much more enjoyable when no one is rushed.
We understand unexpected delays happen. If you are running late for your appointment please call or text before your appointment time. We want to be able to provide the best experience for every client.
All services are done in a private area. You will be able to discuss any questions or concerns you may have before your service.
